We regretfully announce the cancellation of the 2003 Regatta. Hurricane Isabel has downed numerous trees along the Canal, creating hazardous rowing conditions. The Army Corps of Engineers will not be able to clear the damage by Oct. 25.
The Regatta organizers would like to thank all of the teams who expressed interest in rowing in our event. We hope you will leave a spot on your Fall 2004 calender to join us next year on Oct. 23rd for an enjoyable day of rowing and fun on a beautiful and historic waterway.
The Great Dismal Regatta is a 2.9 mile head race open to all scullers, rowers and paddlers on the historic Dismal Swamp Canal. Come to the lost land of the Juniper tree on this flat-water stretch of natural fall beauty in Chesapeake, VA.
